December/Christmas recap

December flew by so fast this year!  The beginning of December was spent playing at our house and getting ready to leave for California.  Keaton got his 15 month shots and that weekend had his first round of sickness with throwing up! We thought it had to do with the shots, but then I started throwing up and we realized it was a real virus!  I got it first and then Drew followed shortly after.  It was a long week of not feeling good and just as we all recovered we hopped on the plane for California.  The trip was such a whirlwind. We started out at Papa and Grammy's house for the weekend and had so much fun playing with Uncles and Kiele and Leila!  Then off to Gamma and Grandpa's house for Christmas Eve with Grandpa's family.  Keaton was very shy but warmed up to everyone at the end of the evening.  Drew, Keaton and I put on our matching p.j's for Christmas Eve (a tradition that I want to start but Drew doesn't love dressing alike..haha!)  We opened gifts from Gamma and Grandpa and Keaton wanted all of his toys out of the box immediately!  We had fun opening gifts in front of the fire and turned in early to wake up on Christmas morning!  Keaton was a little too young to understand Santa so we headed down to the bay area to Uncle Dave's house to celebrate with Nana and company.  We ate brunch at Uncle Dave's and enjoyed opening presents.  Keaton and Jeremiah played with each other and it was fun to see them together!  After hanging out with Gamma's family we went back to Papa's for the evening to stay the night and celebrate Christmas.  We had fun opening gifts and eating the prime rib dinner!  The day after Christmas we headed back to Gamma's house and the weather was so nice that we played outside for most of the day and got packed to go to Monterey!  We headed to Monterey for Drew to play golf and to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Keaton loved looking at the fish and we can't wait to go back when he is older!  After a whirlwind trip we headed back to Indiana and were relieved that Keaton did great on flight! He is a natural flyer!  A few days after we got back we went over to Grandpa and Grandma Smiths to celebrate Christmas with a yummy dinner and presents!  Keaton had so much fun running around playing with his toys.  It was a great end to the year 2013 and we can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for our family.  We have so much to be thankful for!
