Week 2!

Audrey has been in our life for 2 weeks now and she is doing great!  Keaton loves his baby sister so much and is so sweet with her.  He always wants to make her stop crying and he hugs and kisses her good night.

Audrey's nursery

The best part of being 5 days overdue with Audrey was that my mom and I were able to finish her nursery!  With Keaton we had his nursery done by the time I was 6 months pregnant...of course I wasn't chasing around a 2 1/2 year old the first time around either.  We went with a sophisticated girly chic theme with all different color pinks, mint and gold.  This is definitely a room that Audrey can grow into without much updating.  The inspiration was definitely this watercolor peony Anthropolgie wallpaper.  The wallpaper gave us our color palette and away we went!   We do have one last thing to finish and that is the curtains.  My mother in law is helping sew them and after we hang those we will be finished!

My mom DIY'd the mobile and it is so adorable!  Lot's of girly tulle and different size flower balls.

One of the stars of the room is the light!  It was a little bit of a splurge, but the ceilings are so low that we need something flush and I'm really not into many boob lights.  It is the extra large Olive Leaf light from Shades of Light.  I wish this light was in my bedroom too!  It is gorgeous!

I knew that I wanted a gallery wall over the dresser so I picked up a bunch of different frames to paint.  Have you heard of the website www.groupdealz.com?  I am pretty much obsessed with that website and many items we used were purchased there for a great deal!   I bought some mint paint from Michael's and painted the teal frames.

The key aspect to a gallery wall is laying out all of your frames, items before you start hanging them up.  We went through a variety of different options.  This was one set up we tried but after painting the frames the color layout didn't work well so we changed it up slightly.

Finished wall! Most of the artwork came from the Groopdealz website.  They have such great vendors that do some amazing printables.

My mom styled the shelves and most of the items came from Hobby Lobby or Target. The black wall on the left is a chalkboard wall.  Hopefully Audrey and Keaton keep their writing to that wall only! The button "a" on the top shelf was made for me by a co-worker and it is so cute!  Such a thoughtful gift.

I'll leave with this ADORABLE dress that I can't wait for Audrey to wear.  I wonder if she will fit into it for Easter?  I can hope!

Dresser before and after

I found a great wood dresser on craigslist and my handy husband got to do another project!  Deep down I know he loves all the projects I give him...ha!

Of course, I didn't get a before pic with the drawers in, but I love the "after" with the new hardware spray painted gold and beautiful pink.  We have white walls in baby girl's room so this pop of color on the dresser works great.

Primed and ready to paint.

After!

If you look in the background of the pictures you will get a sneak peek at what letter her first name starts with.  We just had our 39 week doctor appointment and I'm not dilated at all and my cervix hasn't really made any movement.  Looks like she may be a late baby just like her brother!

Welcome to 2015!

Holy cow, how did it get to be mid-February already!  I have been neglecting this blog and I would love to get back to posting regularly.  My due date for baby #2 is in 12 days so maybe that will be a goal for maternity leave to get some good posts up.

At least for now I'll leave you with a cute Valentine's Day outfit and cards that I found via Pinterest!

Bounce house fun!

Keaton is so obsessed with bounce houses!  He has no fear and gets in there with all the big kids.  He loves climbing up to the big slide and going down.  It is so cute to watch!  These pictures were taken when he experienced his first bounce house and since then daddy is not needed to help.  He loves getting in there by himself and climbing through everything.

Baby #2!

It is very true when they say that baby # 2 doesn't get quite the same attention to detail as baby #1.  I'm already dealing with this and I'm only 19 weeks pregnant!  With my first pregnancy I thought about every detail, wanted to document all the little changes, and started a pregnancy photo book with weekly photos right away.  Well, pregnancy #2 I'm definitely not as motivated!  Maybe it's the fact that I'm still feeling sick in to week 19 (with Keaton I was over the sickness at week 14) or the fact that I'm running around with a toddler and when he goes to bed, I want to go to bed too!  Doesn't leave much time for anything else!

We did schedule Keaton's 2 year photo shoot right about the time that I got pregnant so I knew I would at least want to do a pregnancy reveal photo.  I searched through Pinterest and found some cute ideas and finally settled on the "and then there were four" idea.  I thought maybe I'd do a gender reveal party with some close friends but after planning Keaton's second birthday party I was over it!  Poor baby #2...already getting the short end of the stick.  I did get on the ball recently and started a pregnancy book for #2 so at least Keaton and this baby will have their own books.  I call that a win for baby #2.

Keaton's second birthday!

My mom and I had so much fun putting together Keaton's 2nd birthday party.  The theme was Keaton's county fair.  We had pony rides, good food and yummy pies!  The petting zoo was the biggest hit with the kids!  Thank you to Gamma for pulling together all the details!  Thanks to my mother-in-law for baking some mini-apple pies!
