Lil Monster 1st birthday party!

We had so much fun at Keaton's 1st birthday party! Thank you to all the family and friends that came to the party.  My mom and I had so much fun setting up all the decorations and Keaton had such a great day.  He usually takes one nap a day from 12-2:00, but the day of his birthday we put him down for a nap around 9:00 in the morning to see if we could get him to at least sleep for an hour.  The party was from 11-1:00 so we knew he wouldn't really get his afternoon nap.  He ended up sleeping until about 10:30 which was perfect!  Then he powered through the rest of the day without a nap and didn't get to fussy.

I bought a monster package from Etsy and that was the inspiration for most of the decoration.

I got the cake for the guests at Indy Cakes and they did a great job!  My friend Leslie made Keaton's smash cake and it was so CUTE!!

We mostly decorated the kitchen/dining room area, but also threw some balloons in the living room.  I took weekly photos of Keaton during his first year and I had those printed and displayed them in the foyer so guests could look at all 52 photos when they walked in.  I loved looking back through his first year!!

The rest of the day was spent BBQ'ing, playing monster toss, hitting the pinata, opening gifts and eating cake.  We couldn't have asked for better weather and we had such a blast celebrating our little man!!

Drew has really good monster painting skills!

Adler gave Keaton a hug and it was so cute!

Only 20 more years before you can enjoy that beverage, buddy...haha!!

This was Keaton's reaction to the pinata!  Priceless!

Keaton enjoyed his cake too!  My mom made the ribbon garland to go around the highchair.  It was a nice touch!

I saw this great idea to make an over sized Polaroid picture frame on this blog that I follow. She did it for her son's first birthday so I had Drew make one for us!  It was so fun to get everyone to take pictures to document Keaton's first birthday.

The adopt a monster station was a hit!  My Nana and Aunt Barbara crocheted all these monsters for favors.  The kids loved them!

After all the guests left Keaton enjoyed running around the house playing with all the balloons!

Holy cow, I guess we have a toddler now!  Time to start planning his next birthday...just kidding!  (well sort of!)
