Getting ready for baby!

We are down to 5 1/2 months to go before the big arrival!  We cleared out one of the guest rooms we had set up to start on the babies room.   Below is the before picture of the guest room.

We don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet, but we knew either way we wanted white beadboard in the room so Drew got started on another project!  He is priming the beadboard before it goes on the wall so all we have to do is paint it white once it is ready to go.  I am loving how it is turning out!!  The top half of the wall will be painted once we find out gender.  More fun decisions to make later!

Ugly lights everywhere!

When we moved into our new house one of the first things we noticed was three of the exact same UGLY light all able to be seen in one room.  There was one in the entry way, one in the living room and one in the office area which is pretty much part of the living room.  Below is the picture of the living room and entry way.

I didn't get a picture of the third light to the left of the entry way, but you get the idea.  All the same and all ugly!!!  So we took down all three and put a can light in the office, and a new light in the foyer.  We are waiting to decide what we want to do in the living room area, but it looks so much better with all the lights down!!

We can't wait to meet the new addition to our family!  We had our 12 week ultrasound this morning and baby is doing great and progressing right on schedule.  We are so excited!!

Super Bowl!

It was so awesome having the Super Bowl in Indianapolis this year.  The city had so many fun activities and everybody had such a good time downtown.  We had a party at our house and it was so great to use the basement!  Drew got to show off his surround sound and 106" projector TV.  We had some appetizers and pizza and I think everyone had a good time!  We were so happy the Giants won!

Penny loves snow

We haven't had too many snowy days this winter (knock on wood!), but when we do have snow, Penny just loves it!  She can't get enough and as soon as she gets outside she digs her nose in and starts eating away. This leads to a lot more potty breaks outside and much more eating of snow.  I think she secretly knows if she eats it she will need to go outside more!

Deer!

I was sitting on the couch this weekend and Penny started barking and ran to the windows in the living room.  I thought maybe she saw a squirrel, but she really saw deer!! It is so cool to live in the city but see deer walking through the backyard!  There were three of them just strolling through the yard.

Then they walked to the front yard!  Penny really wanted to go chase them, but we kept her inside. :)

Horse!

I found the cutest Etsy shop while browsing for some art for our house.

I was looking for something that was a little distressed and since Drew and I both grew up around horses, we found the perfect piece of art!  My mom was nice enough to buy it for us and it fits perfectly above the pantry in the kitchen.  I love it!

Master bathroom doors

When we moved into this house, there was something really strange going on with the master bathroom.  I love the french doors, but they had glass panes and were see through!!  I mean, when I'm in the bathroom I usually want some privacy, right?!

The previous owners just had a sheet hanging on the inside for privacy which was pretty ugly.  We talked about a few options and settled on frosting the glass.  This way it would keep the look of the doors. 

We started slowly and everything was going on smoothly so we went for it!

 One door done and you can't see through it any more!

  It looks so great and I love it! Yay for privacy!

Christmas in California

We headed out to California for 10 days to visit family and friends over the holiday. The weather was so amazing!

Drew went golfing with my uncle Dave a couple days and had a great time.  They were beautiful courses!

After golfing we went to the Sharks hockey game with Dave and my cousin Terra-Lynn.  It was such a good game and it ended in a shoot out with the Sharks winning!

We spent Christmas Eve with my mom and step dad's family and exchanged gifts that evening. 

We woke up Christmas morning and drove to my uncle Dave's house to celebrate with my mom's side of the family.  Then we went to my dad's house and spent some time with my step family.  We went down to Monterey for lunch the day after Christmas and hung out by the ocean.  It was nice to see the beach!!

The night before we flew back to California we went to my friend Nikki's house for a party. It was so nice seeing my Theta friends from college!!!!

Christmas in Indianapolis

Before we left for California we celebrated Christmas with Drew's parents and his brother and sister-in law.  We went to Barb and Steve's house for a yummy dinner and great wine!  It was such a fun night!

Brad and Suzanne bought Drew a package of fake mustache's and they had a great time modeling them! 

Abbey loved tearing apart the wrapping paper!
